Coaching is a specialized mentor strategy that is used to encourage one or more ages 13 and up. Although coaching adheres to some of the same principles and confidentiality as therapy, it is not therapy. Coaching helps one to develop a action plan that encourages them to move forward on a particular endeavor i.e. relationship, career, or life changing decision. Also, coaching principles do not delve into ones past history unlike therapeutic principles, but most often focus on the present and the future, which includes ones future goals, plans, and supports i.e. family, friends, and economic resources. Representatives of the Hip-Hop Therapy Project are available to perform presentations, sit on panels, and keynote speak at conferences, associations, industry events, educational institutions, churches, and other organizations on Hip-Hop related topic, with emphasis on the social, cultural, and environmental issues of those who embrace, embody, enjoy, and are most affected by Hip-Hop music and culture.
